World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players increase an item's gear rating up 700 points and also give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of the base. This is generally a positive factor, but it could also have negative consequences. In the case of items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them can render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.
upgrade item is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. This can increase the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that are circling. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor

This makes it easier to get through difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the more health you will get from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, provide a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential such as a thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Trinkets can be upgraded once they're no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other items of gear they will not be replacing soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding the items to upgrade, players must also be aware of the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket until it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still less expensive than buying the new one.
